SUZANNA HASNAY

Suzanna is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent, long time teacher and featured speaker with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. For more than 15 years, she has instructed and presented at police colleges and conferences in the United States, Europe, Australia and Canada. She founded PoliceSpirit, LLC, in 2017 and, since then, has trained and coached over a thousand law enforcement, public safety and private sector professionals across the USA in mindfulness-based strategies for performance and well-being. She developed and delivered the first yoga and mindfulness training for the FBI Critical Incident Response Group’s (CIRG) Tactical Section/Hostage Rescue Team and was co-founder of CIRG’s highly regarded PEAK Program, which was the first and only of its kind mindfulness-based training for FBI tactical operators, EOD operators and other mission critical and leadership teams. Most recently, Suzanna developed and delivered the FBI Academy’s original mindfulness training for New Agent Trainees which, again, was the first of its kind in the FBI.

Suzanna holds a B.A. in Dance from the University of Akron, OH, a M.A. in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed post graduate studies in Exercise Science through Cleveland State University. She is former adjunct faculty in exercise physiology for Notre Dame College of Ohio and in leadership and officer resilience for the University of Virginia at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. An E-RYT 500 certified yoga instructor, athlete, mountain trekker and professionally trained dancer, Suzanna is also a certified Mindfulness Coach for Law Enforcement and Public Safety through Mindful Badge and UC-San Diego School of Medicine.

JIM KEESLING

Jim is a retired FBI Special Agent with 25 years of investigative, supervisory and instructional experience. He has presented and trained law enforcement officers across the world in crisis management, counterterrorism and WMD matters. Upon his retirement in 2020, Jim spent 4 years as an instructor at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, teaching defensive tactics, physical fitness and mindfulness-based training for performance and well-being. Jim was the first full time mindfulness-based instructor in the FBI and played a pivotal role in the delivery of its original curriculum. In addition to working with New Agent Trainees, he delivered extensive and related training for the FBI National Academy, Army Command and General Staff College, and Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.

Jim holds a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.B.A in Business Administration from Southwestern College in Kansas and a M.S. in Criminology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is also a certified Mindfulness Coach for Law Enforcement through Mindful Badge and Pacific University in Oregon. Jim is a lifelong competitive distance athlete, including the Lake Placid Ironman, Boston Marathon and numerous collegiate and regional races, as well as a mountaineer and trekker of notable mountains and routes, such as Mount Rainier in WA State, Island Peak in Nepal and two treks to Mount Everest Base Camp.

BETH COLEMAN

Beth is a long time Leadership Instructor currently assigned to the Leadership Education Unit at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Beth is Adjunct Faculty for the University of Virginia and currently teaches graduate Psychology of Leadership and Emotional Intelligence: Leadership & Context for UVA’s Criminal Justice Program. She also teaches for the High Performance and Resilience Team supporting New Agent Trainees at the FBI Academy. Prior to her current assignment she was assigned as the FBI’s Adjunct Faculty Program Manager, an Instructor of Communications, and a DEI Instructor.

Beth is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, holding a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology. She holds a Master of Education (concentration Psychology of Adult Education) from the University of Virginia.

She is a certified emotional intelligence coach and is a life coach for Performance Protocol. She has coached hundreds of law enforcement officers and executives in the areas of leadership, emotional intelligence and resilience. She is also certified in DiSC, the Pearman Personality Integrator, the HRG (Hardiness Resilience Gauge), and Positive Psychology. As a researcher and published author of numerous articles on law enforcement leadership and emotional intelligence, Beth is the proud recipient of UVA’s prestigious Jefferson Award for research.

As a yoga and meditation practitioner, Beth relishes sharing these practices with law enforcement partners.

KEVIN KELLEY

Kevin is a retired FBI Special Agent with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. Kevin was the Senior Team Leader of the San Francisco SWAT team from 2017-2022, leading one of the largest tactical teams in the FBI. A SWAT operator since 2007, he also investigated counterterrorism matters, child exploitation cases and served in the San Francisco Firearms Training Unit. As an early adopter of the FBI’s former innovative PEAK for his SWAT team, a mindfulness-based training program for performance and well-being, Kevin then joined the PEAK training team as a teacher and facilitator in May 2021. He currently trains for Mindful Badge in Oregon and is a certified Mindfulness Coach for Law Enforcement through Mindful Badge and Pacific University.

As a trainer and thoughtful teacher, Kevin delivers mindfulness-based training from firsthand experience and understands the impact unmitigated stress and trauma has on health and performance both at work and at home. He has a longtime gratitude practice which he shares with his students in a way that is genuine and relatable. An athlete his whole life, Kevin holds a B.A. in Exercise Science from Rice University and both a M.S. and PhD in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University. Prior to joining the FBI, he was a scientist studying physiology as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of CA-San Diego School of Medicine.
